About Bruce and Lisa
Hi, we’re Bruce and Lisa Hendrich, and we came to Mead to start Grandview Church! We have been married for 42 years – we married very young!. We have two grown sons: Brent (38), who is married to Christie, parents of our new granddaughter Ella, and Mark (33).
Bruce grew up in northeastern Colorado on a family farm and ranch. During his undergrad studies Bruce met Lisa, a native of Tennessee. Lisa is a registered nurse, and worked on a OB/GYN floor in a hospital for ten years. Since 1990 she has worked as a clinical research coordinator. She presently works in a medical research clinic in Boulder.
Bruce earned a BS in Missionary Aviation Technology and a MA in Ministry, both from Moody Bible Institute. Before entering full-time church ministry, Bruce trained future missionary pilots as a flight and ground instructor. Most recently, he was the senior pastor of Oak Street Baptist Church in Elizabethton, Tennessee, for 19 years. About three years ago, God began the process of calling the two of them back to Bruce’s roots in Colorado to plant a church for the unchurched young families along the front range of the Rocky Mountains north of Denver. They are settled into their new home in Mead, where they are building the foundation for their church plant, Grandview Church.
God has led them to many people in Mead who are eager to have a fresh, new option for church participation in their community. As they build authentic relationships with individuals and families in Mead, their small groups, missional activities and corporate worship services will be designed to make disciples who make disciples. By God’s grace they will become a church that plants other churches for the unchurched in Colorado, and beyond!
In April of 2018 Grandview celebrated it’s first birthday after beginning weekly, public worship gatherings at Mead Middle School.
Bruce retired as Lead Pastor in December 2023. He continues to serve at Grandview Church as an Elder on the Leadership Team.
