The Iceberg
Ryan Singleton
The captain of the Titanic boasted, “Even God Himself cannot sink the Titanic.” On this luxurious ship traveled three classes- the rich, the moderately well off, and poor immigrants and ship’s workers. The White Star Line was so paranoid about keeping the social classes separate that the doors between decks were locked and chained. As a result, hundreds of passengers were trapped below when the ship began to sink.
When the news of the tragedy reached England, frantic relatives rushed to the Liverpool offices to discover if their loved ones had made it. Outside the office was a single wooden board and on it were only two columns of names. At the top of one column was the word “SAVED.” The top of the other was the word “LOST.” No one was listed according to status or wealth. Only one thing mattered to those who rushed to see the wooden board- were their relatives saved or lost?
This world we live in is divided into social classes: winners, losers, haves and have nots, celebrities and barely scraping by. So many of us are striving to move up to a higher deck. We want more money or more status. We spend our 9 to 5’s trying our hardest to climb the corporate ladder. While really all that matters is where our name is listed on that wooden board at the end of our lives…
The tough truth is this- There is an iceberg out there in all our lives and it’s coming sooner than we think. We don’t know when it will hit us. We don’t know when our last day will be. Whenever that day is- only one thing will matter – which list is your name on? Are you saved or are you lost?
Jesus is not one of many ways to Heaven. He is the only way to Heaven.
“There is salvation in NO ONE ELSE! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.” – Acts 4:12
If your answer isn’t “SAVED” then I encourage you to do the following right now. Pray to God, ask for forgiveness,  and place your faith in Jesus. This was the best decision of my life and it can be the best decision of your life as well.
Reach out to us and let us know about your decision. We would love to give you a free Bible and give you some practical next steps to continue to grow in Jesus. God bless you!
